Match Report
Chafyn Grove Preparatory School Mixed-U11A vs  Forres Sandle Manor School Boys-U11A
On: Wednesday, 26 May 2021
Venue: Away

On arrival at the home of cricket (Winterbourne C.C.) the boys were fantastic as they set about preparing the ground ready for play - they were rushing around putting out chairs, setting up scoreboards, moving sightscreens, setting up stumps, measuring out the pitch, pulling out the boundary rope (then untangling the rope which they had managed to tie in knots!), moving covers, the list goes on and on. But it was good for the lads to see what goes into a game of cricket.

Batting first, the Colts put on 157-3 with captain Gabriel top scoring and retiring on 30 - a super knock. He was ably supported by Will L. and Jonathan who both scored 22 apiece. Jack played a nice innings at number five too, scoring a useful 11 runs.

Sam and Liam opened the bowling and gave nothing away in the first 4 overs and immediately FSM were behind the scoring rate. Liam took 2 good catches too. In an attempt to score faster, the wickets started to tumble. Mike and Jonathan retuned good figures, both taking 2 wickets. Rupert bowled nicely too, bowling his left arm unorthodox spinners and also picking up 2 wickets.

All in all, a good game of cricket, played with good spirit and plenty of encouragement throughout the whole team.
